The Stage (Full National Park Abruzzo) was a special experience in many ways.
Apart from the intense and continuous practice of Tai Chi, we had the chance to try another martial art: Karate applied to the Defence Staff.
I find the idea of \u200b\u200ban exchange of martial philosophies can be very intriguing and to satisfy the curiosity, that to expand their knowledge of a world as complex and vast.
At 16:00 on Saturday we were ready to begin training that would continue until 20:00.
open, as usual, with Chi Kung energy to activate. Even the teachers and students of Karate took part in this special heating, looking for that muscle relaxation and of mind which style Tai Chi Chuan Yang said, the one offered by our Master Brown.
So we all started together with "The movements of eight animals: Falco, Wolf, Snake, Tiger, Dragon, Monkey, Bird and Bear and then take the form" # 1 3 minutes. We
students of Tai Chi were scattered among those Karate, so that the latter would follow the execution. Our colors (black to white for Tai Chi and Karate) separates us, but it would be better to say that we identified as practitioners of a specific style because at that moment we were all united by one passion.
After heating and the first training schools were necessarily due to go on separate each with its own program.
Our training and 'was intense and lasted until eight o'clock in the evening.
After dinner, the program continued with the movie Japanese "Kuro-Obi (Black Belt) who showed us the strong bond between teacher and student in the road for the achievement of Black Belt. A bond that goes far beyond just physical training, but that is a mental attitude, a philosophy of life. The martial art should not only be seen as an attack against a potential enemy, but as the ability to defend and counterattack without raging over who is helpless. This concept will be taken then the next day during class the Defence Staff.
But for those who had the strength, the evening was not over yet: the disco has provided music and entertainment until late at night.
At 04:30 am on Sunday, June 7, we were back on their feet for the Chi Kung waiting for dawn: the best time for this type of practice.
We have also achieved some practitioners of Karate, eager to know more of an art for them so far never investigated.
Waiting for the sunrise we learned a new alignment method of energy: "The Eight Pieces of Brocade." We
so ', "held up the sky with your hands", "targeted an eagle away," "separate hands," the head rotated and balanced the pelvis, "" look behind "," united hands to the feet "," fisted "and we" raised on tiptoe. "
Then we came back to the hotel to perform a complicated practice for the purification of the internal organs.
Unfortunately (or fortunately ^ _ ^), the hotel was far from any town, so it was not possible to go for breakfast just after dawn. Many of us, exhausted from the disco the night before, they preferred to go to sleep another couple of hours before breakfast and to start with the practice of Tai Chi.
At 10:00 we were again all ready. Each level had its movements to revise for exams. For this reason, the training went on at a brisk pace, never stopping: movements, forms, applications. It 's been repeated over and over again.
The harmony between the various groups after the mid-stage years, was just tested and all take the same pace was not as difficult as the first time.
At 12:00 we had the opportunity to participate in self-defense class held by one of the Masters of Karate.
Again, students of Tai Chi were mixed with those of Karate applications to run in pairs.
course we found ourselves having to compare it with something completely different from our style, but perhaps for this very intriguing. The Master was very good and showed us how to defend ourselves in situations unfortunately "typical" of our times. Has not spared even with the explanation of our penal code, or on significant but difficult-to-grasp difference between "legitimate defense" and "culpable excess."
Again we return to the philosophy of the film the night before: What is the martial art really? How far can we speak of practicing martial arts or just wanting to take a hand in Rambo?
The first principle taught us that when put into practice the techniques of Defence Staff and 'the advance was that the enemy attacking first with evasive movements. But there has also reiterated more than once, that you should not necessarily get to the physical confrontation, even when one is aware of his own superiority, indeed .... must be done only when you have no possibility of release.
As I said before training with the Karate if only for self-defense is' something very different from what we as students of Tai Chi used to. The physical energy used is much greater, as well as physical contact is absolutely necessary that you need to learn the levers that are the basis of joint Defence Staff as needed to immobilize an attacker and then make it harmless.
We then had the honor again in the context of this cultural exchange between different martial arts, watch a demonstration of Iado, or the art to draw the sword, by a Cuban master very good.
past one o'clock, tired but happy we came back for lunch.
Stage was also open to family practitioners for whom the fact of being right in the Parco Nazionale d'Abruzzo, a few kilometers away from Pescosolido, offered numerous possibilities for recreation beyond the martial art.
Nearby there are many places to explore, mountain paths they can take for both beginners and experienced walkers. Not to mention that the structure also offered a beautiful large swimming pool where you can swim.
