the morning we get up early, even if Monica spent a stormy night. We have breakfast and we are moving towards the old Jewish quarter.
A wall rather high, and the narrow streets, we announce that we have arrived. Beyond the 'wall of the old Jewish cemetery, hundreds and hundreds of tombstones - one close to another - they are' from 1439 until nearly 1800. There are more 'than 12,000 in the ground. Trees grow wrapping them around and above, as if the stones were part of nature, were one with the earth. Coins hovering above them, little pebbles and irregular folded, stuffed into every little hole available, are the signs of votive respect for the dead.
Among them the famous Rabbi Low and that 'given the legend of the creation of a magical being: the Golem.
We then went to visit the Jewish Museum and several synagogues. What more
'struck me' was primarily to see objects that belonged to those who were sent to extermination camps: the yellow stars, the cases with the serial number and an indication of the target field, old photos of the ghetto drawings of boys and girls. Everyone, not just pieces of broken lives, but also people who were trying to move forward comuqne looking, as far as possible, to resume everyday life 'in such an absurd.
Another thing that struck me and 'the infinite' sacred objects contained in the synagogue with the list and explanations of all the ceremonies connected with them. It seems almost impossible to think of having a life to what extent dictated from outside, and even more reason of religion: that every Saturday, every Friday 'that. This month so ', the next cola'. The food should be treated only in a certain way, no one, locate the east etc etc.
Help! Personally I guess I'd resisted until the age 'of reason, then I escaped. But forgive me
are convinced agnostic, let alone put up with so I could find 'many religious obligations.
dinner we found a pretty good restaurant, "Granny Goose" I think the translation or something like that.
As for lunch we set the "bucket" of KFC. ^ ^
